Poison Oak Land T-shirt (Front + Back Print) in Reflective Ink
$25.00
'Poison Oak Land' started as an inside joke on a Big Sur backpacking trip, inspired by camping near a lot of it. The joke stuck through years of hiking and biking (and occasional rashes) in the East Bay Hills. I adapted the City of Oakland logo to make it look more shrub/vibe like and added the infamous 'leaves of three'.
This is my first screen printing project and hopefully one of many. It features a small left chest print and large back design in reflective ink. While not as bright as the vinyl used in Visto triangles, the reflective effect on dark fabric creates an interesting subtle contrast. I may switch to standard white ink in future runs.
While poison oak may be our trail nemesis, it's an essential part of our native ecosystem. I hope this shirt serves as both a badge of local pride and a playful nod to a plant we've learned to respect.
I recently printed a small batch of this design on black, forest green, and grey shirts. i used the Next Level 6210 Blank for this which is a 60% Combed Ring-Spun Cotton, 40% Polyester unisex T that I've been quite happy with so far.
